      Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27.

     The Will County Mobile Workforce Center will be making several stops in October to communities around the county. The mobile center offers state of the art computers local residents can access to help in job searches. Assistance is also available in the following areas:

     A lifelong resident of Joliet, Caroline Portlock said she looks forward to helping local business grow in her new role as director of the Will County Workforce Investment Board. She is assuming the position Pat Fera held for nearly 17 years.

     Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7.

     A 20-year veteran of the United States Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps has joined Will County as its new Facility Management Director. The new position is responsible for the numerous buildings that are part of the county-wide operations.

     In collaboration with the Will County Land Use Department and the Will County Problem Solving Courts, the county’s Drug Court recovery homes, the Julie Ann House and the Miller Taylor House, have received energy efficiency upgrades at no cost through the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance’s (MEEA’s) Savings Through Efficient Products (STEP).

     The Workforce Center of Will County September schedule, which includes workshops offered by the Workforce Services Division of Will County, Illinois Department of Employment Security and Joliet Junior College, has been released.
