Anonym / Thursday, February 27, 2020 / Categories: News, Press Releases, Events, Home Page Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event to be held March 14 in Homer Glen The Will County Land Use Department is partnering with the Village of Homer Glen to host a free one day Household Hazardous Waste collection event from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. This event is open to all Will County residents by appointment only. During this event, residents can bring unwanted household chemicals such as oil-based paint, stains and varnishes, oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products and more. Mercury and most mercury containing items will also be accepted. This event is a great way for residents to remove hazardous chemicals from the disposal stream and prevent potential impacts to their local environment. Due to the limited amount of appointments available, participants attending the event will be limited to the following: one vehicle per appointment, 15-gallons of latex & oil based paints & stains per vehicle and 15 fluorescent tubes or light bulbs per vehicle.
